Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR)
Some experiences are held in the brain and body in ways that words alone cannot reach. Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) is a body-centred, nonverbal approach that works with the brain's natural orienting responses to help the nervous system update old threat patterns and feel more present and grounded.
Sessions are gentle and paced to your comfort. Your therapist guides you through simple, structured steps that invite your attention to shift, while you stay in control of what you notice and how much you explore. Your therapist will talk with you about whether DBR suits your goals and how it fits with any other approaches you are using.
Deep Brain Reorienting can help with: stress and anxiety held in the body, trauma-related reactions, feeling disconnected or numb, startle and hypervigilance, and difficulty settling after overwhelming experiences.
