Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Intense emotions, strong urges, and difficult relationships can make daily life feel unmanageable. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based approach that helps you build skills to tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and communicate more effectively, while still accepting yourself as you are.
DBT is structured and skills-based. Sessions focus on four core skill areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Together we identify the patterns causing the most difficulty and practise new ways of responding that fit your goals and values.
DBT can help with: emotional intensity and mood swings, self-harm urges, impulsive behaviour, relationship conflict, difficulty tolerating distress, and feeling stuck between acceptance and change.
